Cairo- The Centre of Three Continents

 The Attractions In Egypt
Cairo

CAIRO
– is the largest city of the African continent and is the heart of the Arab World. With its “thousand minarets”, picturesque Oriental bazaars, plush Nile-side hotels and apartment blocks and gracious residential districts. It is also a rare blend of a long past still throbbing with life and a vibrant, modern present.

Giza Pyramids
A visit to Cairo is incomplete without seeing one of the Seven Wonders of the Old World – The Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx. This trio of pyramids is around 12 kms from the city centre and contains the most important of the many pyramadic edifices in Egypt.

The Sphinx
The Sphinx- a combination of a man’s head is believed to be the Khafra’s and the body of lion said to symbolize power. An evening trip to Giza is worth a second visit to enjoy the ‘sound and light’ show which is an experience by itself to know about man’s earliest civilization.
“It is impossible to get tired of the Pyramids” – Amelia B Edwards, 1877

One of the most renowned places besides the Pyramids is the Egyptian Museum – a voyage in history which takes you back about 5000 years into the ancient Egyptian history. Among its more splendid treasures are the funeral effects of Tutankhamen, the unfinished head of Queen Nefertiti, the wooden statue of the Scribe and the diorite statue of King Khafra – the man who built the second Giza Pyramid.
