Egypt Revisited by Subhash Motwani
I did not imagine that I would be making my second trip to Egypt in less than two years and this time I took the opportunity to visit the Sinai region. Unlike my previous trip when I visited Cairo and did the Nile Cruise besides visiting Alexandria and Hurghada along with my wife and two kids, this time it was just me and my wife travelling to the Charming city of Sharm el Sheikh and we checked into the Millennium Oyoun Hotel at Nabq Bay which is 15 kilometres from the newly refurbished Sharm el Sheikh International Airport.

Alexandria has a very European influence and is one of the most beautiful cities of Egypt. It is a year round destination and is located 225 kilometres from Cairo. Alexandria enjoys a very pleasant climate year round and during summers the Egyptians too love to come and spend some time in Alexandria.

We had not realized that so soon the Nile Cruise was over and we left for Hurghada on day 8 of our tour and our vehicle was part of a convoy which took us to Hurghada in about 4½ hours from Luxor.

Amazing Temples en route to LuxorIt was day four of our tour and our boat halted at Kom Ombo where we were to disembark to see the Sobek and the Haroeris temple.

After having unraveled the mystery of the Pyramids and Sphinx we headed to a shop called Ani Papyrus which is in Giza to look at how the famous Papyrus paintings are made. Along the Pyramids Road, there are several such shops which sell the papyrus paintings which is a must buy souvenir from Egypt.

Likewise, a visit to the Egyptian Museum is not complete without visiting the Tutankhamun chamber where you find some of the finest masterpieces of the ruler of the 18th Dynasty.

The Pyramid of Cheops. Although Subhash had an opportunity to visit Egypt on his own earlier in September during the Cairo Festival, he couldn't make it due to prior commitments and instead decided that he would take the entire family.
